If you have purchased another vendor's software and want to switch to Ahsay, you get a 2 for 1 trade for Ahsay software.  Peak Backup supports this as well.  Plus you still get a Peak Backup discount as identified by the coupon codes on this page.  The purcase process could be delayed one business day for Ahsay to verify your puchase receipt, but overall it's simple:

• We get approval through Ahsay
• You order your product through the Peak Backup cart

 Why should I buy through Peak Backup when I can buy through the vendor directly?

Answer.  In addition to all support and access to material as if you purchased directly, Peak Backup offers:

• Telephone sales support
• Minor telephone technical support
• Discounts on initial sales
• Discounts when adding licensing to an existing key
• Discounts on maintenance

Can I buy new licensing or leasing from Peak Backup?

Answer: Yes.  Everything Ahsay offers is extended through Peak Backup.  We provide them your owner details, and you get ALL materials and access as if purchased directly.

Can I buy licensing and add to an existing license name if I did not buy from Peak Backup originally?

Answer: Yes.  This is new beginning Jan 1, 2010.  

Can I renew leasing though Peak Backup if I originally setup leasing through Ahsay?

Answer: No.  

Can I renew maintenance though Peak Backup if I originally purchased through Ahsay?

Answer: No.  You can add additional licensing to your key, but maintenance renewal is through Ahsay since they generated this sale.    

Why did I receive a maintenance invoice email from Ahsay?

Answer: Peak Backup works with Ahsay on providing ownership details.  You can renew directly with the link on their email, or you can click the maintenance renewal link on Peak Backup for addtional discounting.

Will I have access to Ahsay partner materials?

Answer: Yes.  You will have all the same access as if you purchased directly from Ahsay.

Does Peak Backup compete with Ahsay?

Answer.  Absolutely not.  We compliment their sales with our experience and commitment.  In fact, you might be here because Ahsay referred you to us.  We have daily electronic and regular telephone correspondence with Ahsay concerning marketing.  We've also had joint magazine advertising ventures together.

If I buy an Ahsay package, will I own the software myself, and can I install it on my own server?

Answer: Yes and Yes.  The software is perpetual for purchases which means it does not expire.  You own the software, not Ahsay or Peak Backup.  You can install on your own server.  

What is maintenance for purchase licensing?

Answer: For purchase the software is perpetual which means it does not expire.  Maintenance is included in the first year and optional yearly thereafter.  Maintenance is: access to releases; access to marketing material; access to ahsaypedia; access to the partner login for OEM; and support for technical issues.

If you let maintenance lapse the licensing still works.  If you let licensing lapse, then want to pay, you must pay the time from lapse, even if you didn't utilize support.

What if would need some support, can I contact both you and Ahsay?

Answer: Yes you can contact both.  Peak Backup is good for sales and minor technical.  Ahsay is good for all technical.    

Will I gain access to ahsaypedia and other ahsay places?

Answer: Yes.

If I should need more licenses after the purchase, what would the price be?

Answer: Through Peak Backup we offer the best discounts available.  Pricing depends on quantity purchased.

What about when a new OBS server version is out, can I upgrade it to the new server without additional costs?

Answer: If maintenance is current, there is no additional cost.

Is OEM fully brandable to my own details?

Answer: It is fully brandable. You'll get a partner login to customize your installer as well.

Is it possible to provide trial accounts that do not count as a CAL?

Answer: Yes with OEM versions.  Trials accounts do not count against licensing.

Is it possible for me to provide free backup accounts for an unlimited time without using any CALs?

Answer: Yes with OEM versions.  You'd login and set OBS to not delete trial accounts and to default to a value in size.  The highest size is 5GB (compressed) beginning with release 5.5.5.7 (Feb 2010).  So, it's possible to provide unlimited 5GB trial accounts.  We do not use this as a selling point because Ahsay reserves the right to modify this functionality.  It has not changed since product inception though.

For OBS (Backup Server) do I need a static IP?

Answer: Yes.  This is a change with versions 5.5.X and higher.  From Ahsay: "The requirement to use fixed external IP, was mainly our business decision to keep track the license usage as we have found many cases related to dishonest usage on the license. Please understand that, this change was implemented to protect our partners, as well as ourselves from dishonest usage of our product."

What happens if Peak Backup goes out of business?

There is no dependency on Peak Backup's success.  You get all material, support, and renewal features from Ahsay as if you purchased directly.  Peak Backup provides every license ownership details to Ahsay at time of purchase.  So, if Peak Backup discontinued operations, you simply go to Ahsay for support and maintenance renewal.
